I’m sure any child of the 1980’s would remember this. I was chided for getting red dye on everything growing up after eating pistachios. It kind of stunned me when I saw white ones in the grocery store recently. I always thought there was a reason why they were dyed red but I never knew why until relatively recently.
That also probably explains why I’d always end up biting into one or two that tasted rotten. I wasn’t imagining things. They really were.
